What a distant view! When the weather is clear, the view extends to the Hohe Acht and beyond to the Siebengebirge near Bonn. For me one of the most impressive Eifel views.

Coming on the Eifelsteig from Roetgen, the summit of the Steling is a treat for feet and eyes after the very monotonous climb on the gravel road, even though it is also surrounded by beautiful nature.

At 658 m, the Steling is the highest elevation in the Aachen city region. The German-Belgian border runs over the hilltop. With very good visibility you can see the Siebengebirge near Bonn.

From the steling, a great view opens up in clear weather. Please note: In March, unfortunately, there is backlight in the morning when taking photos.

When the weather is clear, you have a wonderful view from the nearby edge of the forest.

From here you have a nice view of Vicht and a bench as you can take a break here.

From the rocky vantage point there is a great view over the Rur valley. Going down there is absolutely worth it. The Rurtal between Ehrensteinley and Fischerhütte is a particularly wild section that is well worth seeing.
