Since 2023, there has been a beautiful rest area with a shelter, bicycle repair station and information boards (according to the new Weser Cycle Route standard) on the Weser Cycle Route in Vlotho-Uffeln (Höferweg, near the Uffeln gravel pit lake).

The former Löhne Nature Friends House "Carl Schreck" (according to the inscription on the house wall) is located in the middle of the idyllic Mittelbachtal. The long building and the large outdoor areas with rest areas, barbecue area, playground, information boards, etc. suggest that until a few years ago, clubs and youth groups regularly spent weekends here. Today it is obviously used by a training institute and as a residential building.
