A little out of the way… Pretty to look at… worth the extra meters

Above the Altental (near Günzenhofen), very hidden on the side of the road, easy to miss! The stream forms small waterfalls and sinter terraces here, which plunge into a picturesque dammed pool. The stream also feeds a fish pond before it later flows into the Schwarzach.

Directly below the castle with a small waterfall. The Gauchsbach comes here from the Krugsweihern and the swamps under the Ludwigskanal through a small gorge that comes down romantically under the Guglhammer Castle. You then have to go back a bit, out of the gorge, to get to the stairs on the other bank.

The lime sinter terraces are definitely worth a visit. This is a real natural wonder 👍
