A truly beautiful lake to walk around. The trail is easy, though there's a bit of a climb and a narrow cliff.

Legion Lake is part of Custer State Park in South Dakota. There is a campground and a lodge right next to the lake. The Legion Lake Trail goes around the lake and offers the opportunity to enjoy the water from all kinds of views on a short hike.

Center Lake is a little quieter than some of the other lakes in the area. This picturesque lake offers a picnic area, playground and small beach. As well as a campground that is ideal for tents and small campers.

This is a long-distance multi-use trail running for 113 miles all the way from Deadwood to Edgemont. This section between Argyle and Minnekahta has gentle rolling hills and beautiful scenery of meadows, forest, and ponds along the way.

This is an easy out-and-back trail connecting Grace Coolidge Campground with Center Lake. You'll be able to admire creek and canyon views all along the way. Once at the lake, the Lost Trails lead around the lake in a loop. Continue on to a side trail at the northwestern end of the lake to reach a lovely viewpoint.

Just follow the signs saying "Overlook" on the upper loop of The Lost Trails and you will eventually reach this viewpoint. It's probably the best view you can get of Center Lake, and usually you won't find many other people on the trail.

Stockade Lake Trail starts right next to the parking lot at the lake and climbs up to about 5,600 feet. From the top you will have an amazing view over Black Elk Peak, Cathedral Spires and Little Devil's Tower.

Just follow the signs saying "Overlook" on the upper loop of The Lost Trails and you will eventually reach this viewpoint. It's probably the best view you can get of Center Lake, and usually you won't find many other people on the trail.
