Bautzen boasts several important fountains, including the Ritter-Dutschmann Fountain on the main market square, the historic New Waterworks in the city fortifications, the Nymph and Unicorn drinking fountain on Reichenstraße, and the Elector Johann Georg Fountain. Georg Rudolf von Gersdorf was Royal Saxon High Court Marshal. He rebuilt the castle in its current baroque style in 1872.
