The Caminau castle ruins, with their three round towers, are an artificial ruin built in the 21st century and opened to the public after 2012. They are the highlight of the Caminau biotope network, which was constructed as part of the remediation and recultivation of the former open-cast mining site of the Caminau calamine works.

Very beautiful baroque palace with a picturesque park. The Saxon bird sanctuary is located in the manor pavilion.

Beautiful well-kept castle complex. Nice to enjoy an ice cream and relax. Above behind the castle are aviaries of the nature conservation station, with animals that could no longer be released into the wild. Several nature trails and hiking trails in the Oberlausitzer heath and lake areas also start from here.

In 2007, the 6th Krabatfest took place at the castle, which was opened by the President of the Saxon State Parliament, Erich Iltgen. A year later, the 100th anniversary of the almost completely renovated castle was celebrated on the private grounds with the local residents.[5] After the death of the owner in 2014, the castle was sold to a Dresden entrepreneurial couple in October 2015

Räckelwitz was first mentioned in 1280 as Rokolewicz. Since 1304 there was a manor here. In 1719/20 Jacob Eckart von Wobeser auf Räckelwitz was appointed governor of Upper Lusatia.[4] His daughter Eleonore Charlotte (1737-1772) married Friedrich Albrecht von Götz (1728-1780). Her son Ludwig Eckard von Götz (1765–1815)[5] sold the "Erb-, Kunkel- und Spillehngut" (an estate that could be inherited by women) Räckelwitz to Philippina Countess von Bolza, the daughter of Privy Councilor Joseph von Bolza , who married Count Stolberg.[6] The present mansion of Räckelwitz Castle was built around 1750 and in 1784 came into the possession of the Counts of Stolberg. The last owner of this estate, Countess Monika zu Stolberg, a nun in Belgium, had the castle chapel built between 1883 and 1885 and bequeathed the manor to the Order of Malta.[7] In the period from 1903 to 2000, a Catholic hospital of this order was located in the former manor house. After the restoration of the building, since 2008 there has been a large outpatient nursing service of the Maltese and until 2016 a nuns' convent of the Sisters of Providence with a chapel.
