The history of today's seaside resort of Nikiti dates back to ancient times. The town center consists of a village of stone houses on a hill. It houses a folklore museum with exhibits on the myths and history of Macedonia. There are hiking trails along the coast and inland. A short path leads to the ruins of the Sophronios Basilica, an early Christian church with marble columns and mosaic floors. Visitors are drawn to the bars and discos on the beach and out into the Toroneos Gulf for diving and sailing.

Very nice place, wonderful sandy beach and crystal clear water

Beautiful hiking trail past the bird sanctuary. We saw bee-eaters and spoonbills. We also came across a turtle. Very pleasant hiking trails, although it can get a bit wet after rain. But highly recommended.

Beautiful, well-kept beach with a great view. Great for cooling off after climbing the altitude.

Various species of turtles live in the pond. You can walk around the small body of water on paths, but there are only two places where you can get directly to the pond.
