Caution! There are two Geislingens in Baden-Württemberg. This is not "Geislingen an der Steige," but Geislingen bei Balingen in the Zollernalb district! The larger "Geislingen an der Steige" is located in the Stuttgart region, 15 km from Göppingen.

The Catholic parish church of St. Ulrich in Geislingen in the Zollernalb district was built in 1927/1928, incorporating some elements of its predecessor. Its interior is an example of the rather rare Expressionist architecture. St. Ulrich is one of the church buildings of the pastoral unit "Am Kleinen Heuberg" in the Balingen deanery of the Diocese of Rottenburg. The parish church is located on a small hill in a central location in the village, where Brückenstraße, Vorstadtstraße, and Schlossstraße meet. The church was built between June 1927 and October 1928 by the Rottenburg architects Hans Lütkemeier (1898–1960)[2] and Martin Schilling (1896–1991) on the site of the village church, which had become too small. The 15th-century tower of the former church survived. The late medieval vault of the choir of the old church was demolished and reused in the new church. Parts of the furnishings (the sculptures of St. Ulrich, St. Martin, St. Barbara, St. Catherine, and gravestones) were also retained from the old church. The soldiers' benches, although there are three in total, were built by a unit of the German army. Hence the name. The three benches invite you to take a rest in the green and are, for the most part, in the shade.
