The water was almost asleep. Most likely there is no water in August as the whole region was quite dry with pretty dry water fountains.

The fortress is located at the foot of Mount Sheinovets in the village of Mezek, from where you have a wonderful view of Greece. The fortress itself is very cleverly constructed so that they ward off the infidels before they even reach the entrance.

From Mount Sheinovets there are panoramic views in all directions. The climb is gentle and not difficult. At the top there is a concrete bunker and a memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Cold War in 1912 and a radio tower. Enjoy nature, it's definitely worth it.

An almost unthinkable place after a long drive, just before the border. However, it is very worth it. A simple village known mainly for its huge gambling establishment and its historic bridge, the restaurant opposite lets you enjoy the view.
