A short, steep trail uphill, but then suddenly this breathtaking view over two small lochs and, above all, the impressive Cairngorms. Some views are worth the effort.

After a short but vigorous effort, you wind your way up the narrow path before suddenly hitting the brakes at this large rock. The view? Stunning!

The Ryvoan Bothy is an authentic and, above all, small bothy. Because it's also relatively close to a large parking lot and visitor center for Glenmore Forest Park, and the path to it is easy to walk and cycle, it's likely to be crowded. Therefore, it wasn't my favorite during my cycling trip through the Cairngorms, but it does offer excellent accommodations with a few sleeping places, a table and chairs, and a stove.

Picturesque little lake at the foot of a rock face. A nice place to stop and enjoy the view or even take a dip in the refreshing water.

The Ryvoan Bothy is an authentic and, above all, small bothy. Because it's also relatively close to a large parking lot and visitor center for Glenmore Forest Park, and the path to it is easy to walk and cycle, it's likely to be crowded. Therefore, it wasn't my favorite during my cycling trip through the Cairngorms, but it does offer excellent accommodations with a few sleeping places, a table and chairs, and a stove.

A very nice bird's eye view of the waters! A few meters further on—although there's no bench there—the view is, in my opinion, even more beautiful.

Nice photo opportunity. When ascending or descending, you should watch where you step (it's not difficult terrain, but there are no standardized, smooth steps either).

Loch Gamhna is a beautiful body of water lilies. The Thieves' Road north of Loch Gamhna was used centuries ago by cattle thieves as an access route to Strathspey. Hoping that the thieves would spare the herds, locals tied a few cows to a tree by Loch Gamhna, thus giving it its name.

Nice hike, great views, but wow there’s a lot of clear cutting that has been done recently. It really detracts when you come across it on the way up.

The paths are getting harder and challenging from here on. And the more fun it gets too. But it goes down and unfortunately only lasts a short part of the trail.
