Always busy down here. At peak times, you'll be luck to get a parking spot along Glebe road. But there's always plenty of parking in the long stay further along the road. Beautiful scenery no matter the time of year.

At 630 feet (191 m), Brant Fell might not be the tallest top in the Lake District, but the views down onto Windermere from here are really great. It is also close to town, so accessible for a quick walk to get some views.

The West Windermere Way runs alongside the Lakeside steam railway track, crossing bridges and winding towards Newby Bridge. The path is made of hard-packed gravel and tarmac, making it suitable for all types of bikes. It features several gates, all wide enough for trailers and wheelchair users.

Established in 1973, the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway is a family-run business. Steam engines pull 1950s carriages through the scenic Leven Valley to Lakeside Station, where you can connect with Windermere Lake Cruises.

Grab an ice cream or coffee at Oscar's Cafe perched on the south western shore of Windermere. The menu is quite limited but it's a lovely location overlooking the lake. It gets very busy in the summer.

The pub at The Swan Hotel has lovely seating right by the bridge.

Bike boat unfortunately didnt run during summer 2023 due to staff shortages- hopefully it'll be back in 2024 as it makes a wonderful loop for families.

Lovely bay on Lake Windermere with a couple of stone boat houses on the shore.

Surprisingly built only 180 years ago by a surgeon and an heiress from Liverpool. I guess as some sort of holiday home.
