A lovely place for a dip be weary it was particularly boggy on the route for those who don’t like mud I’d recommend finding a route which is paved and sign posted well !

Very peaceful spot for a break.

The Cumbria Way passes by the side of Beacon Tarn. It is a lovely tranquil spot especially on a warm sunny day.

Climbed from the Lowick Green/ Broughton Beck side, towards Ickenthwaite. What a Banger! It's a green lane, open to 4x4, Bikes, Quads etc. so it's eroded but not awful (ridden 30 Aug '23). The water splashes were good fun too! I personally wouldn't climb it (Reverse direction) but me and my trusty Planet X cyclo-tourer navigated towards High Ickenthwaite with little drama - I honestly don't think I'd have made faster progress on an XC hardtail, (but the road climb to it would have been miserable) and the sketchyness is part and parcel of the craic.
