In 2014, the bridge was rediscovered and restored, and today it is a popular tourist destination. The red steel lattice bridge, which is 13.4 meters high and 50 meters long, offers impressive views over the Gudenå River. It is a symbol of impressive engineering and a piece of revived Danish history. The bridge is part of the Horsens-Silkeborg Nature Trail, which is perfect for hiking and cycling. Vestbirk Sø is one of three artificial lakes created in 1924 by the dam of the Gudenå River to power the Vestbirk hydroelectric power station. The other two lakes are Bredvad Sø and Naldal Sø. Østbirk Kirke is a historic church in Østbirk, Central Jutland, Denmark. The church dates from around 1200 and has been rebuilt several times over the centuries. It was originally associated with Voer Abbey in the Middle Ages and later became associated with the Skram family of Urup Estate. The church is characterized by a mix of architectural styles, including a late Gothic tower and a Renaissance chancel. We went back the same route because we liked it so much. Next you could have seen the hydroelectric power station, the former clothing factory. We wanted to use what was probably the sunniest day of our vacation to visit the beach.

A very popular place for excursions with break benches. There is a parking lot 300m away. Address: Vestbirkvej 2A, Braedstrup. The bridge was hidden in a huge dam in 1925 and rediscovered in 2014 during preparations for the renaturation of the Gudena.
