Europa-Park in Rust is Germany's largest theme park and one of the most popular in Europe. Spreading across approximately 95 hectares, it offers over 100 attractions and shows, including numerous roller coasters and themed areas representing various European countries. The Niederemmendingen town gate is the only remaining one of four Baroque gates that were originally built in the early 18th century as part of the town's fortifications. In 1706, it received a distinctive turret, and in 1929 a second gateway was added – to this day, it dominates the entrance to Karl-Friedrich-Straße. Remnants of the old town wall are visible nearby, including at Hebelstraße and Goethepark.

This used to be the meeting point for our mountain bike group. It's a lovely walk along the Elz River.
