At the end of the gravel road, it widens slightly, allowing you to park your car here. From here, you can hike to the summit of Makalausfjellet, for example.

On the hiking trail up to Makalausfjellet, you will pass several small lakes. When it is windless and sunny, the surroundings are reflected in the smooth surface of the water!

Despite its height of 1,099 meters, the summit of Makalausfjellet is an easy hiking destination. The highest point is located on a high plateau, which means that only a few meters of elevation need to be overcome. Typical for Norwegian summits, a large cairn marks the destination, and a small sign also indicates that you have arrived at the right place.

This is a charming picnic area on the shores of Nevelvatnet. There's a fine loop around the lake, the Nevelvatnet Rundt, while a hike up neighbouring Nevelfjell takes you to the highest point in the Lillehammer municipality, at 1,089 metres (3,573 ft).

A very nice hike in itself, but many trees had fallen down so that you could no longer walk along the path and had to climb over trunks and branches.

On the shores of Lake Mjosa rises a small white lighthouse. It's a picturesque place to take a break.

From the top of the hill there is a beautiful view of the lake and towns below.

From here you can admire a small waterfall. Despite its small size, the water flow is very strong.
