6월 22, 2024, Parliament of Georgia
Right next to the Vorontsov Palace is the parliament, built in 1938 and expanded in 1958, magnificent and pompous. With the exception of the years 2012-18 (Kutaisi), the parliament always met here.

11월 16, 2023, Abanotubani Sulphur Bathhouses
Abanotubani is a tourist highlight in Tbilisi. Here you will find the ruins of the Nariqala fortress, which dates back to the 3rd century, and from there you have a direct view of the famous sulfur baths. The only mosque in the Georgian capital is in the immediate vicinity. There is also an entrance to the Botanical Garden, which extends into the Legwtachevi Gorge, below the fortress.

11월 10, 2023, Bridge of Peace
With his love of modern architecture, former President Mikheil Saakashvili designed the Peace Bridge, built in 2010, to resemble a gentle wave. Connecting the old town with new residential areas, the 156-meter-long Peace Bridge spans the Kura River. The new town has become a vibrant consumer paradise, home primarily to older people. The highlights of a visit to the fortress are the beautiful views of Tbilisi, the panoramic path to the Kartli Deda statue (Mother of Georgia), and the St. Nicholas Church, on the lower part of the fortress complex. A visit to the botanical garden can also be combined with the route to the fortress.

11월 10, 2023, Narikala Fortress
Nariqala (Georgian: ნარიყალა) is a fortress in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. Built at the end of the 3rd century, it was the most important medieval castle in Georgia. It has lain in ruins since 1827 on the summit of the Sololaki mountain ridge above the old town and consists of two walled sections. The fortress was built under the Persian Sassanid occupation. Its current name comes from the Persian word Nari-Qala and means impregnable castle. In Georgian it was initially called Shuris ziche (“Fortress of Envy”). Their task was the military defense of the capital. It was built at the narrowest point of the Kura Gorge, where the roads from Europe to India and from north to south intersected. The fortress consists of two parts: the upper and lower fortress. The upper fortress on the ridge is a citadel. It served as the last bastion of defense in the event of a siege and was considered almost impregnable because it bordered on an almost vertical slope on three sides. The lower fortress, Qala, is formed by parallel walls that extend from the citadel to the river. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nariqala

11월 10, 2023, Old Town Tbilisi
Tbilisi (Georgian თბილისი Tbilisi [tʰbɪˈɫɪsɪ]; until 1936 ტფილისი Tpilisi [tʼpʰɪˈɫɪsɪ]) is the capital of Georgia. It is the most populous and largest city in the country. Tbilisi has more than a million inhabitants, the total area is 726 square kilometers, and the built-up area is around 70 square kilometers. On the right bank of the Kura, above the old town, lie the ruins of the 3rd century Nariqala Fortress. Above the fortifications stands the monumental statue Kartlis Deda (German: 'Mother of Georgia'). There is a 128-hectare botanical garden underneath. It was created in 1845 on the grounds of the fortress park. The old town with narrow, winding cobblestone streets is to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are the Sioni Cathedral from the 5th century, the Metekhi Church of the Georgian Kings from the 13th century, the Anchishati Basilica from the 6th century and the Great Synagogue. The Silk Road once ran through the old town. Their old caravanserais still stand today. The houses are mostly made of wood and have carved overhanging balconies. In the Abanotubani spa district there are 17th century sulfur baths and a mosque. Adjacent to the old town are the magnificent buildings of the 19th century in the Garetubani district. The centerpiece is the Rustaveli Boulevard, lined with plane trees, between Freedom Square and Republic Square. It is home to, among other things, the Kashveti Church, the State Picture Gallery, the Historical Museum, the State Rustaveli Theater, the Opera and the Parliament Building. The Kura is lined with wide riverside boulevards, where, however, cars dominate pedestrians on multi-lane roads. Source and further information: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tbilisi

11월 10, 2023, Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi (Sameba Cathedral)
The Sameba Cathedral (Georgian: სამების ტაძარი samebis t'adzari, German: Trinity Cathedral) is a church building in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. It is one of the main churches of the Georgian Orthodox Apostles Church and, with the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, the seat of its patriarch. It is the largest church building in Transcaucasia. The cathedral was built from 1996 to 2004 according to plans by the architect Artschil Mindiashvili. The design was selected from over 100 proposals in an architectural competition organized by the Orthodox Church in 1989. The construction was financed with funds from the Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili and was considered a “symbol of the national and religious revival of Georgia”. The cathedral is located in the center of Tbilisi on Elias Hill on the left bank of the Kura near the old town. Its nine-hectare site also houses the residence of the Georgian Catholicos-Patriarch and Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, a monastery, a seminary and a theological college. The cathedral is a mixture of different Georgian church architectural styles. It has a cruciform floor plan. The dome lies above the crossing and rests on eight pillars. The proportions of the church are independent of the apse, giving a more monumental impression. The dome is crowned by a 7.5 meter high gilded cross. The height of the building from the ground to the top of the cross is 84 meters. The interior measures 56 × 44 m. The building, including the narthex, has a total area of 5,000 square meters. Sameba Cathedral consists of nine chapels. They are dedicated to the Archangels, John the Baptist, Saint Nino, Saint George, Saint Nicholas of Myra, the Apostles and all the saints. Five of the chapels are housed in a large basement. The cathedral also has a campanile. Only natural stone was used for the construction. The floor is lined with marble slabs. The altar is decorated with a mosaic, the walls with frescoes by a group of artists led by Amiran Goglidze. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sameba-Kathedrale

11월 5, 2023, Europe Square
Europe Square connects Wine Ascent, Metekhi Downhill Street, Rike Park, Metekhi Bridge and a driveway tunnel in Tbilisi historical district. One can see huge flower watch, restaurant Rike, lower station of Areal cable car, playground for kids, Mtkvari River Ferry station, and a statue of famous Georgian composer Davit Sarajishvili on the square, which was built on the former river island. Georgian Prime Minister received a piece of Berlin wall during his visit to Germany in June 2017, which was installed here as a symbol of Georgian-German friendship: "This wonderful place will remind us that all walls of evil will break one day” - Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said at Europe Square.
