The Veste Landskron is a little off the beaten path on a single-lane country road. But a visit is absolutely worth it, because the ruins are comparatively very well preserved. A club takes care of the maintenance and does a great job! The castle ruins are very winding and resemble an adventure playground. There is something new to discover around every corner and one intention is more beautiful than the other. Absolutely worth seeing! 💚

The weir can be crossed with bicycles (carrying) with a little effort. It is not barrier-free and its use is officially prohibited. But the way is open and is also used as such. The nearest bridges over the Tollense are first, in the north: Alt Tellin/ in the south: Klempenow, each 5km away.

A detour here is very worthwhile. It is impressive to see and experience what was created here in 3 years in the 16th century!! (especially if you compare it with building a single-family home today ;-)) Thanks to a number of conservation measures, it is safe to enter the ruins. It is also possible to climb one of the towers, which provides a good overview of the ruins and the surrounding area.

Landskron Castle is probably the most impressive ruin of a castle in all of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The "Veste Landskron" (as it is also called) was built between 1576 and 1579 for Ullrich II of Schwerin, the son of Ullrich I, who in turn built the fortress Veste Spantekow, the oldest and most important Renaissance castle in northern Germany let. A mysterious place that also impresses with its very old and impressive trees.
