The inspector's house, one of the best-preserved buildings of the former estate, was built in 1756 and remodeled in 1908. The listed building still features original stucco ceilings and parts of the wood paneling.

The landscape park of Varchentin Castle was laid out in 1838 by the Prussian garden architect Peter Joseph Lenné. The park extends to the lake and includes an artificial canal connecting the Great and Little Varchentin Lakes, which, however, has dried up due to a lowered groundwater level.

The building was constructed around 1250, without a tower, using brick. The medieval roof structure over the nave has not survived, and instead there is an unusual early modern construction consisting of two unconnected substructures, built in 1665 and 1695, which reused usable timbers from the medieval predecessor roof structure.

Ice cellar of the manor house, which was built in 1847 on behalf of the Hamburg banker Gottlieb Jenisch according to a design by the Swiss architect Auguste de Meuron.

The manor house includes several outbuildings, an office building, an orangery, a pheasantry, a mausoleum and a stable with Villeroy & Boch tiles.

The former rectory in Varchentin was the seat of an independent parish until 1982 and was sold to a farmer after the parish was dissolved.
