This observation tower is hidden in the forest. On the way, I only saw a small sign. Unfortunately, it's only open on certain days of the year. There's a sign in front of the tower with this information. There's also a phone number where you can schedule an additional viewing. Besides, the Bismarck Tower looks great. The route up there is quite easy, and you don't have to accelerate much.

The Dambeck Manor House in the Altmark region was once owned by the noble von der Schulenburg family. This family played a significant role in the region's history and was influential for centuries. The manor house itself was built in the 16th century and rebuilt several times over the years. It is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof that was extensively remodeled in the 20th century. The von der Schulenburgs were not only the owners of the manor house, but also closely connected to the history of Dambeck Monastery. They contributed significantly to the development and preservation of the complex.

The village church in the Salzwedel district of Dambeck dates back to the second half of the 12th century and is one of the few well-preserved Romanesque fieldstone churches of this period. It was built as a four-part structure with a transverse rectangular west tower, nave, chancel, and apse. Particularly noteworthy is that many original structural elements—such as the round-arched windows and coupled sound openings—have survived to this day. Around 1500, the church received its still-significant interior furnishings, including a late Gothic carved reredos with a haloed Madonna and an ornately crafted baptismal angel. A small half-timbered porch was added to the chancel in the 16th century. The church now belongs to the Apenburg parish in the Salzwedel church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany. The exterior was renovated in 2011, and the interior restoration began in 2018. The Dambeck village church is considered an impressive example of medieval architecture and remains a vibrant community center.

The Amt Dambeck Monastery Mill is a historic watermill in the Amt Dambeck district of the Hanseatic city of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt. It is picturesquely situated on the Jeetze River and is closely linked to the history of the former Benedictine monastery of Dambeck. The mill was first mentioned in the 14th century and thus looks back on a history spanning over 660 years. It originally served to supply the monastery and its residents. After the monastery was dissolved during the Reformation, it continued to operate as an official mill. In the 20th century, the mill underwent technical renovations and is now equipped with two grinding gears, reflecting the state of the art of around 1930. Originally powered by two waterwheels, a Zuppinger wheel was later installed. The mill's technology remains functional to this day. The Klostermühle has been owned by the Müller family for several generations. The family is committed to preserving the listed building. She regularly opens the mill to interested visitors, especially on Renewable Energy Day. The goal is to keep the historic technology alive and make it accessible to a wider audience.

Dambeck Abbey near Salzwedel was founded in 1224 as a Benedictine monastery. It was an important religious institution in the northern Altmark region and was under the protection of the region's noble families. The monastery church, built in the North German Brick Gothic style, still bears witness to the site's former importance. With the Reformation, the monastery was secularized in 1542. However, the convent continued to exist for a while as a Protestant women's convent. Later, the monastery was transferred to a school administration and served various secular purposes. In modern times, particularly during the GDR era, the site was used, among other things, as a boarding school. Since the 1990s, the complex has been inhabited and managed by a Lutheran brotherhood. The community practices organic farming and maintains the site's spiritual heritage. Today, Dambeck Abbey is a culturally and historically significant place where history, architecture, and spiritual life intertwine in a special way. The complex is open to visitors and offers insights into the history and monastic life.
