The 439-meter-high Eiderberg is a protected area with species-rich limestone grasslands, bushes, shrub fringes, orchids, and former limestone quarries.

This rest area is in the shade on the Eiderberg. The view is mainly to the west.

Similar to a vineyard hut, an old shelter or storage shed can be found here in the undergrowth.

The Jewish synagogue stood here until 1962 as the religious center of the area. It existed since 1784/85, was badly damaged in the Second World War and finally demolished in 1962. Today, a memorial stone commemorates the synagogue and the fate of Freudenburg's Jewish residents during the Nazi regime.
