On this area, which was formerly a wet meadow, the Probstei Nature Association now cultivates rare plants such as marsh marigold, ragged robin, saucerflower, and early purple orchid. After years of lying fallow, extensive grazing by Galloway cattle promotes biodiversity: The animals influence the plant population through their trampling and grazing, thus supporting the preservation and exchange of rare species. This area demonstrates how conservation and experiencing nature can go hand in hand, bringing wet meadows back to life.
