Since 1976, Schönberg Beach has had a heritage railway. During the summer months, you can ride the historic trains on the line between Schönberg Baltic Sea Resort station and Schönberg Beach. After years of lying fallow, extensive grazing by Galloway cattle promotes biodiversity: The animals influence the plant population through their trampling and grazing, thus supporting the preservation and exchange of rare species. This area demonstrates how conservation and experiencing nature can go hand in hand, bringing wet meadows back to life.
