A nice rest hut on the way up to (or down from) Kopitnik. There's a garden filled with benches, and a clearing that provides a nice view to the north. The cottage was closed when I passed (mid-October), but it appears that during the summer season they sell food and drink.

An amazing viewpoint of the valley below on the far edge of a rocky promontory before a sheer drop. It's very exposed so a head for heights is beneficial, but there are steel cables to hold on to on all the sections that run near the edges. There's a small stone plaque marking the height and a summit box with a summit register inside to record your climb. This viewpoint isn't technically the peak of Kopitnik, that's a few meters to the west, in the middle of a heavily wooded plateau. If you want to reach this viewpoint specifically, you have to follow the signs for 'VRH'. The route up is very, very secluded, and in some places not clear. I didn't see a single person the entire journey, until I descended back into Rimske Toplice. I planned my own route to the peak with Komoot, and a handful of the routes shown on the Komoot map either didn't exist, weren't accurate, or were almost impossible to follow. I'd recommend following one of the routes suggested by the Laško tourist information board. You can find a couple of these on their website.

Great hut litlle lower from Kal peak. Place to rest and refresh. Good place for hikers or mountain bikers. Great Blueberry pie. There is even children playground.

This tiny, paved road takes you through the beautiful nature south of the Sava with almost no traffic.

Very scenic. But be aware that this road is locking you in between mountain edge and river for almost 10 km. No other roads coming in or going out. No civilization. I was there in July 2023 and had to carry my bike over a 1,50 m high landslide which blocked the road.

Beautiful mountain hut located at around 900m, its a grueler of a climb to get up there but well worth it for the views. The hut serves hot and cold drinks and some main meals. From the hut you have options to descend via the road or super fun gravel.

NEŽINA POT At a time of grief and evil, full of Turkish declines, diligent shepherds Jošt and Jernej lived and worked together in Kostanjevica na Krki, caring for an innumerable flock of sheep. They realized that they and the herd had to ingeniously flee their native Kostanjevica if they wanted to save her and bring her to safety. They drove the herd northwest of Dolenjska, towards the mighty Kum mountain range. Here they met a compatriot, a beautiful girl named Neža, who knew the secret corners of nature and more or less favorable weather conditions. She helped them along the most suitable route towards Kum and directed them across the Sava River towards Styria. Neža bewitched over the Little Godfather. She knelt devoutly on the rock and prayed that the sheep with the shepherds would be happily saved. Neža was captured by the Turks and because she did not want to reveal where the flock of sheep was, they severely cut off her head. Here in the rock where she knelt remained the imprint of her tiny knees. Good people erected the chapel of St. John the Baptist. A gentleman who still remembers these events today.
