The Aartalsee lake is worth a visit for starters. Even on weekends, it's less busy. You can observe all kinds of birds.

Wonderful abandoned basalt quarry with a tunnel in the rock.. the water level in it unfortunately prevents you from getting through at the moment

The Lahnaue nature reserve includes wet meadows and several lakes that were created from former gravel pits. The area has developed into an important resting and transit area for waterfowl. So always stay on the path. If you keep quiet, you have a good chance of spotting some of the shy birds.

Absolutely great destination, with bike and footpath around the lake. And there are also plenty of opportunities to relax - always with a view of the lake, of course, just great.
