The Lahnaue nature reserve includes wet meadows and several lakes that were created from former gravel pits. The area has developed into an important resting and transit area for waterfowl. So always stay on the path. If you keep quiet, you have a good chance of spotting some of the shy birds.

On the circuit around the Aartalsee you can always enjoy beautiful views. However, you should avoid weekends and public holidays.

I've already posted a tip here - but you can't say it often enough; A tour to the Aartalsee is simply a MUST :-)

Once to the Aartalsee and all around... here is a nice place to rest with a large bench for 2 with a great view over the lake

Here on the bridge you can take very nice sunset photos. The path around the Aartalsee is easy to drive, has only a slight incline and is mostly paved.

Yes, the dam is visible. Good waypoint to plan the circular route. Otherwise a rather questionable "highlight".

It is essential to drive around once except maybe on Sundays 🤔🤣
