Beautiful fortified church that has survived several wars, even if it has a few bullet holes.

The Marais de la Souche is a vast peat bog which offers a remarkable diversity of habitats and fauna. If you want to explore this natural site, you can hike from the Notre-Dame de Liesse basilica and cross the woods, fields and marshes. You will see many birds, plants and insects there, as well as some historical monuments.

The fortified church of Jeantes is a historic monument located in the Aisne department, in the Hauts-de-France region. It dates from the 16th century and has a facade flanked by two square brick towers. The interior of the church is decorated with murals and frescoes created by the Dutch painter Charles Eyck in 1962, as well as remarkable stained glass windows. The paintings represent scenes from the gospel and landscapes of Thiérache, in a style close to expressionism and the work of Chagall, Picasso or Modigliani. The stained glass windows illustrate the life of Monique Carlin, founder of a religious congregation, and the four elements. The church has been listed as a historic monument since 1987.

The Familistère consisted of 558 apartments and 350 houses. The building had a central courtyard under a glass roof. The residents had a very comfortable and luxurious life. All houses and apartments had running water, a rubbish chute and two toilets. There were also allotment gardens, nurseries and schools. Because Jean-Baptiste André Godin was against child labour, every child could go to school.

Vigneux-Hocquet is dominated by the Saint-Martin church, this imposing martial-looking building protected the population during the 16th century. It has now found a renovated interior and allows the visitor to meditate, imagining the disorders of past centuries.
