We were looking forward to cycling along the canal, but that's not possible for now; you have to take a small detour, as Komoot shows the canal's side trails, but there are no bike paths. The bridge, however, with its turquoise blue color, made us happy. These steel bridges are obviously much more durable than our concrete bridges.

We thought the sign prohibited vehicles. But the path ends at Lock 6—there's no access path to the canal. The path is a dead end.

The church has light walls and a dark roof. The interior is composed of white walls, pretty stained glass windows and a starry blue ceiling at the level of the heart. 3 bells exist and are functional. Nearby are some tombs, including that of the painter Maxime David.

Until the revolution of 1790, Wissignicourt had its church placed under the invocation of Saint-Rémi and a cemetery which surrounded it. Everything was at the end of Bourg d'Anizy on the road to Laon. Under the reign of terror, the revolutionaries declared it national property. It was sold and demolished. In the center of the village there was a small relief chapel, twelve meters long and six meters wide, which was used for the special needs of the week.
