This path passes through a meadow bird area. In spring, you can see many lapwings here. On the other side of the path, the farmer planted a forage hedge in early 2025. This hedge allows the cows to eat as much as they like (if the hedge is large enough). This provides them with all kinds of nutrients and trace elements, such as copper in the hazel and pain relief in the willow.

The winery is named after its original owners, the Lauswolt family in Beetsterzwaag, who owned several farms here. During the 19th century, the estate came into the possession of Augustinus Lycklama à Nijeholt, son of the mayor of Beetsterzwaag Jan Anne Lycklama à Nijeholt. In 1867, Lycklama à Nijeholt commissioned the Utrecht architect Samuel Adrianus van Lunteren to build a mansion on the estate. He only lived there for a relatively short time, and after his marriage in 1872 he and his family soon left Beetsterzwaag. In 1878 he sold the estate to Reinhard, Baron van Harinxma thoe Slooten.
