This viaduct has spanned the Parfond de Gouet valley since 1904. Like many other engineering structures in this region, it was built by Harel de la Noe, the chief engineer of bridges and roads, for the departmental railway network. The techniques used demonstrate boldness, ingenuity, and originality: reinforced concrete anchors (rebars) were installed to increase the compressive strength of the pillars and prevent cracks.
