At the top near the castle there is a free parking space for cars with no time limit. From there it's a five-minute walk to the castle or Thick Tower.

The castle complex itself is very beautiful, the path up from Esslingen's old town via the path in the wall is adventurous and an experience, and the area behind the castle (seen from the town) is beautifully designed with places to rest and play. Great excursion option, best combined with a stroll through Esslingen's old town.

Rosenstein Castle is a country palace in Stuttgart, which was built in the classical style in 1824-1829 under King Wilhelm I by his court architect Giovanni Salucci. The palace is in the immediate vicinity of the Wilhelma zoological and botanical gardens on the eastern edge of an English landscaped garden, next to the Rosenstein Park. Behind the castle you have a beautiful view of the Neckar with the lock and railway bridges.
