Gorgeous elevated country lane with fabulous views over the countryside surrounding Totnes.

Unfortunately, it's more of an expensive restaurant than a village pub. There's nothing to eat between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Large parking lot and an even larger beer garden.

Cornworthy Priory is located at the western end of Cornworthy village, south of Bow Creek on the Dart estuary. The site includes the remains of an Augustinian nunnery active from the early 13th century until 1536. Visible remains consist of ruined stone structures and low earthworks, including the substantial 15th-century gatehouse. The gatehouse, measuring 9.5m by 6m, features two arched passageways, a spiral stair, and an upper room. A precinct wall, recently revealed, stands 15m long and 3.9m high. The priory was dissolved in 1536, with the gatehouse now a Grade I listed ruin. The area is managed to preserve its historical and natural features.

Cornworthy Priory was a priory in Devon, England. It was founded in the early thirteenth century, for Augustinian nuns, and existed until 1536.[1] At the Dissolution of the Monasteries the lands passed to the Harris family, and remained in the family until the 1640s. Thomas Harris who was a Serjeant-at-Law lived here with his wife Elizabeth. Their daughter, Anne, Lady Southwell, who was a noted poet, was born here

This traffic-free road is a really scenic way to get up onto the moors from Shipley Bridge near South Brent. It's technically a bridleway, through the vehicle-wide paved road makes for an easy, gentle climb. Look out though, as the uneven road is starting to crumble in some place. It's a really beautiful pedal as you ride alongside the gushing waterfalls of the River Avon and between bracken, crossing the water a few times as you head up towards the Avon Dam and reservoir.

Totnes is a small market town in South Devon, next to the River Dart. Here you can explore the narrow, bustling streets with lots of independent shops and cafés.

Sunday lunch smelled delicious. Had a nice pint sat by the river. I'll be back for food after seeing that 😋

Bike racks close by with outdoor seating. A great pit stop along the way to dartington & beyond.

Built in 1028 and a pub since the 1400s the Church House has a fascinating history; it's even got a friendly resident ghost. The pub serves good classic pub food, drinks, and snacks. There is plenty of inside and outside seating but it's worth booking if you want a meal. Open from 12:00 Tuesday to Sunday and they normally close at about 11pm.

The Curator Cafe is a great artisan coffee shop in Totnes. They roast and sell coffee beans (or ground) as well as great mugs of coffee, cake, and light meals. Some outside seating and plenty of inside seating. Very friendly.

This path which links Totnes and Dartington is part of the NCN route 2. A long-distance cycle and other user path which links Dover with St Austal. This section is gravelled and pleasant, avoiding the roads and following a flat ish woodland trail.
