The Harz hiking couple Alwin (3) and hiking women Claudi (1) met on the terrace of the Frankenstein. 🤭🤣 and enjoyed the fantastic view.

Frankenstein Castle was the ancestral castle of the important Franconian noble family of the Lords of Frankenstein, which descended from a side branch of the Counts of Henneberg and can be traced back to the middle of the 14th century in western Thuringia and the Rhön.

The terraced gardens of Altenstein Castle can only be visited in the upper and lower parts. The middle terrace can only be seen from above. Here, leafy paths with dense vines were planted and very elaborate flower beds were designed. Absolutely fascinating and definitely worth seeing.

Very beautiful and well-kept grounds. The flowerbeds right next to the castle are almost like works of art. The arcades are beautifully overgrown and in some places you have a great view.
