The Pfaffenteich in Schwerin is a centrally located body of water in the heart of the city and is one of its most famous landmarks. It was artificially created in the Middle Ages and originally served as a millpond. Today, the approximately twelve-hectare Pfaffenteich is a popular spot for walks and relaxation. Surrounded by historic buildings, it offers a picturesque view of Schwerin's skyline with the imposing cathedral in the background. The lakeside promenade is particularly charming, with cafés and benches inviting visitors to linger. In summer, small boats cruise the pond, and events and festivals are regularly held here – a lively meeting place for locals and visitors alike.

When the subtle lighting of the bridge structure reflects in the water of Ostdorfer Lake at dusk, its elegant curve comes into its own. In 2021, the new, impressive cycle bridge between the two peninsulas of Krösnitz and Dwang was officially inaugurated. The steel structure has a total length of 92 meters. The bridge completes the 1.2-kilometer-long new cycle path from southern Dwang to the Krösnitz peninsula.
