Basedow Castle is a real eye-catcher and beautiful to look at. Together with Lenné Park and the small village with the village church, it forms a wonderful ensemble. Unfortunately, the castle itself can only be partially visited as part of a guided tour. But it is also worth seeing from the outside. There is a small path leading directly around the castle. The park is free and freely accessible and it is also worth taking a long walk here. The reflection of the castle in the adjacent village pond is also beautiful!👌 - why they have created several highlights for the same thing here is a mystery to me, as it is completely unnecessary! -

Ulrichshusen Castle is actually a manor house. It is beautifully situated on the Ulrichshusen Lake. The castle is used as an upscale hotel. But there is not just the castle with the small castle garden directly adjacent. Rather, it is an entire ensemble on the Ulrichshusen estate. Here you will find a good café and restaurant, among other things. The other outbuildings are used for various public events such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

This castle was owned by the knightly family von Stave (Stove). In the 15th century, the castle passed to the ducal House of Mecklenburg, and the property was enfeoffed to the von Hahn family. In 1606, a palace was built in place of the castle. This palace burned down in 1727. In 1740, the new palace complex was built, which was intended as a widow's residence for the widow of the last Duke of Mecklenburg-Güstrow. But the building eventually became an administrative headquarters and district court. Due to its hillside location, the house has three floors on the garden side and two floors on the courtyard side. The round stair tower was built as an extension in 1890. After 1945, the palace was used as a school. Cyclists are not welcome here. Although the cycle path runs along the edge of the site, there is a locked gate and an additional barrier.
