Driving on the former railway line is excellent.

Very scenic route, at times crossing traffic but mostly far off the busy streets with stretches of what seems eternal fields of wheat and rye. The road between Görne and Strohdehne is breathtaking! With a bit of luck you can see gliders over the airfield on a warm day.

Pure landscape, the old railway tracks have been removed but a very nice cycle path was created for cyclists.

Anyone who goes through the imposing red brick portal with old sandstone sculptures enters a special place. The old lodging house, the stables, the distillery, the granary, tall old trees on the lake shore. It's a place full of atmosphere and spirit.

Since 2009, Ribbeck Castle, which was built in neo-baroque style as an extension of the "double-roof house" from Theodor Fontane's famous ballad, has been shining in its original splendor above the picturesque village ensemble of the former estate.

The lovingly restored Ribbeck Castle on Ribbeck in the Havelland region, with its pear tree made famous by Theodor Fontane, as well as the old Ribbeck Church, the rectory garden, and the Old School—who hasn't seen them? Hans Georg Henning von Ribbeck built the castle in 1893 in neo-Baroque style. The castle's extraordinary ambiance creates a dignified setting for an unforgettable wedding. Upon request, the bride and groom can arrive in a wedding carriage right up to the castle entrance. The wedding room on the first floor accommodates approximately 60 guests.

Around the year 1800, the district administrator at the time, Peter Alexander von Itzenplitz, had a mansion built above the Great Behnitz Lake. In 1866, after persistent mismanagement and high levels of debt, the property passed to the Borsig family.
