The Lessing Cave, first mentioned in 1546, is a nice place to raster and a nice photo opportunity. Today it serves as a retreat for bats and other animal species that are worthy of protection.
Beautiful stamping point for the Harz hiking pin with a rest area. We particularly like it here in summer, as the area is completely in the cool shade.
The sound cave is an approx. 20m long tunnel from 1760 located directly on the Bode. The Thaler gardener Heinrich Recklen sold his "water of life" there after it was forbidden to amuse the guests with cannon shots:
