Tower Castle, Belvedere "Schöne Höhe" (Beautiful Heights). Information: Commissioned in 1831 by the then-owner of the castle and art patron Johann Gottlob von Quandt, and completed in 1838 as the earliest site dedicated to Goethe. It is significant from an architectural, local, and personal historical perspective. Restored 1999-2001. Schöne Höhe is a 327.9 m (2,200 ft) high hill located between the districts of Dittersbach and Elbersdorf in the municipality of Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach.

The castle, its park and the surrounding ponds form a wonderful ensemble.

Stolpen Castle, a culturally and historically significant monument, was over the centuries a residence of the bishops of Meissen, a fortress and later a castle, which is now open to visitors as a ruin and museum. With its long history, which is marked by strategic reconstructions, military importance and the imprisonment of Countess Cosel, the castle attracts around 100,000 guests every year and offers a varied program of events. It's a shame the inn is closed, doubly a shame with this great fairytale tower🤗

Unfortunately we found it locked, but it was impressive from the outside and there were definitely a few photos inside.

Rammenau Castle in Bischofswerda is one of the best preserved baroque castles in Saxony.

Nice little castle. Admission €4.50. To recommend. Outdoor area is freely accessible/free of charge.
