The Sandberg is a hill near Steinheid and part of the Kammweg trail that runs through the region. From here, you can enjoy magnificent views and explore the surrounding area.

The Lange Berg is an 808 meter high mountain ridge in the northern Thuringian Forest. On top of the mountain stands the Prince Günther Monument. It was erected in honor of Karl Günther of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen.

The Scheibe-Alsbach dam can be seen from the Sandberg.

At an altitude of 786.1 m, we reach the Meuselbacher Kuppe. The inn with its tower is unfortunately closed. Today, the view over the valleys and mountains is dull and gray.

The Prince Karl Günther monument exists in honor of the prince. The monument near Gehren was erected between 1911 and 1912 on the initiative of the Thuringian Forest Association.

One of my favorite places that I visit regularly. From here you have a magnificent view even to the Brocken when the view is clear. There is always a wonderful silence here to relax. But you can also meet other pioneers here. The absolute highlight is the sunset in summer. Is in no way inferior to a sunset in the sea :-)
