The laundress at the Beecker Bridge in Bad Bramstedt vigorously wrings out her clothes, unaware that she would one day go down in history. According to legend, the Danish King Christian IV saw the young woman washing clothes while riding through Bramstedt in 1625 and fell in love with her. She later became his partner and the mother of two children. Whether the story unfolded exactly as it was is disputed. What is undisputed is that the farmer's daughter Wiebeke Kruse, born around 1605 in Puls (Steinburg district), became the king's mistress and died in Copenhagen on April 28, 1648.

You can park your car in a small parking lot right next to the site. A wide stone staircase provides easy access to the water.

The name “Schloss-Bücke” for the route across the Hudau behind the castle is ambiguous: it traditionally refers to the listed urban building that was originally the gatehouse of the castle, which no longer exists. In the meantime, many padlocks adorn a specially made frame on the bridge shield. They are so-called love locks. From the castle bridge you have beautiful views of the Hudau.
