Today I rode the narrow trail from the lower town of Lauenburg to Glüsingen, initially close to the shore, but later on along the partially very steep embankment. Only for advanced riders, as the uneven, winding trail poses a risk of falling. Some very narrow, confusing paths with oncoming hikers (be careful!), with few opportunities to avoid them. A difficult section with steps. Near the shore, there is dense, head-high vegetation with stinging nettles and thorny bushes. Therefore, long clothing is recommended.

Documents prove that this charming half-timbered house with its carvings was built in 1573. Currently, the house houses an ice cream parlor, which invites you to linger simply because of its ambiance.

The old town of Lauenburg is definitely worth seeing, but the rest of the town is rather unspectacular. The Mensing House in particular is a very pretty ensemble in summer. Down by the Elbe there is a nice cafe with a view of the river. If you want to get some exercise, you can take the path along the Elbe towards the west and hike through the nature reserve.
