The Hackenberger Mill in Saarburg is a 13th-century mill museum that is open seasonally. The season begins April 13th and is open from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The entrance is located below the waterfall in Staden. The museum offers, among other things, a new listening tour and a detailed model of the mill.

Originally operated as an oil mill, tannin mill, and grain mill, the millers switched to using the mill complex exclusively as a grain mill at the end of the 19th century. The mill wheels produced up to a ton of flour daily before operations ceased in 1974. Today, the Hackeberger Mill is a museum. Opening hours: From May to October, every day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Small, well-designed market with many places to stop for refreshments right by the Leukbach, a few small pedestrian bridges and the sound of the waterfall in the background. Often overrun with tourists, but still atmospheric.
