Saarburg is a town in the district of Trier-Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is located in the western part of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park on the banks of the Saar and at the mouth of the Leukbach. Saarburg is the administrative seat of the Saarburg-Kell municipality, a state-recognized resort and classified as a medium-sized center according to state planning.[

How amazing is that? A waterfall in the middle of town!
The Leuk pushes its way through an old town lined with well-frequented restaurants, tumbling down several steps in the middle of the town and driving three water wheels.
Saarburg also has a lot to offer otherwise, such as the picturesque old town, the Saarburg ruins high above the city, the St. Laurentius church and of course the Saar and the beautiful landscape around Saarburg.

Small, well-designed market with many places to stop for refreshments right by the Leukbach, a few small pedestrian bridges and the sound of the waterfall in the background.
Often overrun with tourists, but still atmospheric.

Very nice marketplace in the heart of Saarburg.
The market is right on the Leukbach. The floral decorations and the beautiful location in the middle of the historic old town make this a wonderful sight.
The surrounding restaurants have created a large number of outdoor gastronomy on the market and directly on the Leukbach.

Unique natural spectacle is the waterfall in Saarburg. From the iron bridge, one can observe the water masses of the Leukbach, which plunge into the depth of 20 m in the middle of the city over the rock cascade. Everywhere beautiful houses, small bridges, towers. City tour through Saarburg is highly recommended.

The best ice cream parlor in town is opposite the Sparkasse. If you need a walk afterward, you can walk through the vineyards of the Saarburger Rausch up to the Warsberg and enjoy the panorama.
Or float up with the chairlift.
