On the northern edge of the Lindemannsruhe hiking car park is the plaque with Otto Wilms' "Pälzer Prayer". There the first sign post with a black ax on a yellow background shows the way into the forest. On firm, partly rocky forest floor, the route leads through sparse forest to the Teufelsmauer, from where it runs parallel to the Leistadt historical circular hiking trail for a stretch. Passing the Teufelsbank you reach the Kanapee (approx. 100m off the main path), then you pass the Leininger Grenzstein and reach the "Soup Bowl" and the Krumholzer Stuhl, an old quarry. We head slightly down the slope towards the Ungeheuersee with the Palatinate Forest Association hut (open: mid-March to mid-November on Sundays and on all public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (November only until 5 p.m.) and from mid-May to mid-October also on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.). We continue along the edge of the lake, past the Herxheimer Brunnen, now a longer passage slightly uphill until the path meets the Pfälzer Weinsteig. In a southerly direction you now walk towards the Lindemannsruhe again. Shortly before the parking lot (km 6.2) the path leads west, then crosses the state road L518 and leads slightly offset again in a southerly direction to Heidenfels. Here it is worth taking a detour over the rough steps down into the sea of rocks at the foot of the Heidenfels with its impressive rock formations and overhangs. After a short serpentine-like descent, the path leads without major inclines or declines over narrow paths through quiet mixed forest to the Geiersbrunnen, which was built in honor of the former district manager and later professor of forestry Karl Johann Gayer (*1822 - +1907). After a few 100 meters, the Bismarck Tower comes into view, whose upper viewing floor offers a wonderful 360° panoramic view over the Palatinate Forest and the Rhine plain (from May to October, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and on public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., November to April on Sunday and on public holidays 10am-4pm). The attached kiosk offers refreshments and snacks. From the Bismarck Tower it is only a few steps back to the Lindemannsruhe car park with the Forsthausgaststätte

Without the sign with its interesting information, this “highlight” would not have caught the eye.

It is a fascinating swamp area through which experienced riders can meander without pushing the MTB 🙈😉🤩

One of what used to be several springs rises in a swampy spot in the woods between Niefernheim and Wachenheim. A carriage loaded with treasures is said to have once sunk here and to this day people are still looking for its traces in this enchanted place.

Small trail with a bench for a little rest. The path leads right next to the Pfrimm. To the right of the awl is one of the holes with a notice board. But that's it.

Always great to take a lap around the Lambsheimer Weiher and then enjoy a break in the fisherman's hut.
