Great castle ruins and definitely worth seeing. Part of the new building style is added to the old one. Conferences and events take place here. There is also a café and you have a great view from up here.

In addition to the ruin itself, the Whiskey Meseum is also very interesting; The Kyrburg houses a whiskey museum in the basement, which also offers whiskey tastings, among other things.

From the castle you have a wonderful view of the Kellenbachtal. Unfortunately, one of the beautiful vantage points is currently closed and not accessible (12.07.).

The Kyrburg, the landmark of Kirn The Kyrburg, built around 960 by the count Emicho, is a landmark of the town of Kirn that can be seen from afar. After a history marked by various occupations, the Kyrburg was destroyed by the French in 1734. The guardhouse, which was only built after the destruction, now houses a restaurant. From the terrace you can enjoy a wonderful view of Kirn and the Nahe valley. Germany's whisky museum is housed in a deep cellar beneath the guardhouse. The lavishly restored castle complex offers an impressive view of Kirn and the Nahe valley as far as the southern heights of the Hunsrück from a high vantage point. It is also possible to get married in a restored vault of the Kyrburg in a medieval atmosphere.
