Here, you can compete with the racing cyclists for many kilometers on the best asphalt ;-). Riding away from the road in what is admittedly a rather desolate landscape has something almost meditative about it.

The cycle path from Trebur via Ginsheim to just before Mainz is a premium cycle path. The approximately 8 km long path runs on perfect asphalt through meadows along the main dam and parallel to the Old Rhine - but at such a great distance that you cannot see the Rhine.
