The Saar cycle path is consistently well developed. You can follow it from the mouth of the Saar into the Moselle near Konz to Gondrexange in Alsace. There he encounters the Rhine-Marne Canal. After Saargemünd, however, the path follows the Saar-Kohle Canal and no longer the Saar.

The hut has been shut down and is now a World Heritage Site. Other parts of Saarstahl are still in operation, e.g. the blue steel mill or the red rolling mill.
