Although Rapunzel has no historical connection to the Wilhelmsturm, on which this elaborately worked carving stands, it is definitely appropriate for this fairy tale. A nice rest area with an information board about the Wilhelmsturm, but also about the fairy tale Rapunzel, which is also enhanced with food and drinks from the kiosk on Sundays.

The Wilhelmsturm was built in 1846 by Prince Georg of Schaumburg-Lippe for the purpose of surveying the land. However, it is also reported that the tower was merely a job creation measure. Today, the 25 m high tower is an observation tower, but it is only open on Sundays and public holidays. But then you get a worthwhile view, not in all directions, but towards Petershagen and the Wiehen Mountains, as well as the Weser Mountains. There is also a kiosk at the tower with small items such as drinks and bratwurst.

The Loccum Monastery was founded as a branch monastery of the Cistercians from Volkenroda. In addition to the well-known monastery complex in Maulbronn, Loccum is considered to be the best-preserved Cistercian monastery north of the Alps. In 1163, an abbot and 12 monks came to this place to found this monastery. However, the church was not begun until 1240. The monastery's name goes back to the Lucca Castle, which was only 1 km south of the monastery, but was probably already abandoned when the Cistercians came here. The outdoor areas and the monastery church can be freely explored. However, many of the monastery buildings are now a training facility for pastors and for other meetings. Pilgrims can also spend the night on the monastery grounds. With the Sigwardsweg and the Loccum-Volkenroda pilgrimage route, two pilgrimage routes lead here or begin here. There are numerous information boards on the monastery grounds that report on the life and history of individual areas and ponds.
