In the half-timbered town center, fishing nets, traps, boats and peat barges tell of this story in a nostalgic way. The fisherman's and weaver's museum and a unique historic mangle for processing linen fabrics also provide vivid evidence of the life and work of people by the sea before tourism became the main source of income.
