Bursfelde Monastery had a major impact on European monastic life with its reforms in the 15th century and therefore has a great history! The complex, parts of which have been preserved today, is particularly impressive with the Romanesque basilica of St. Thomas and St. Nicholas. Definitely worth seeing!

The bridge pictured is not the bridge between Wehrden and Meinbrexen, but the Weser bridge between Wehrden and Boffzen, which crosses the Weser near Godelheim below Fürstenberg. The railway line runs from Holzminden to Scherfede and has been closed for many years.
