If you cycle along the Weser, you shouldn't just ignore the monastery. You should take a few minutes. Only about 75 meters from the bike path you will find a place of peace. There are plenty of bicycle parking spaces there, as well as a toilet. About 100 meters further you can recommend the Klostermühle Bursfelde for a refreshment. There are also sufficient parking spaces for the bikes.

Beautiful Romanesque monastery church. It's worth taking a look inside!
When it rains, you can take a rest under the roof of the barn next door. There are tables, benches and a toilet.

Today: In 2019 there was a wonderful exhibition in the monastery church.
The daily open Romanesque church with wall paintings from the 15th century has a very spiritual ambience.
A spiritual center offers services for full-time and honorary employees of the church. The spiritual center includes the conference house and the area for contemplation and silence.
There is a pilgrim hostel next door.

Formerly: Founded probably in the 12th century. Around 1540, the monastery changed under Benedictine / Cistercian leadership in the course of the reform movement under Protestant hands. Then back again until it finally became evangelical in 1648.

The Bursfelde Abbey is a former Benedictine abbey in Bursfelde, a district of Hann. Münden in the district of Göttingen, Lower Saxony. Klosterkirche and Klostergut of about 300 hectares are part of the general Hannoversche Klosterfonds administered by the Klosterkammer Hannover. Legal sponsor of the Spiritual Center Kloster Bursfelde is the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover. [1]

The monastery is located directly on the thoroughfare (with Weserradweg). Shortly after the village there are two trail markings towards Hann. Weary. The right on the bike path parallel to the road promises a rapid descent out of a wooded beech forest out in Rtg. Hemeln. The left route goes over the mountains, is longer umd more for MTB`ler ;-)
