One of the few old alleyways in its original state

This beautiful and interesting model of the city of Bitburg, on a scale of 1:400, was donated by the Bitburger Brewery in 2017 to mark its 200th anniversary.

The Church of Our Lady next to the town hall is the older of the two Bitburg churches and was built at the highest point of the city.

The Gäßestrepper Fountain, located in the pedestrian zone (Hauptstraße), is based on a local legend of Bitburg. According to this legend, the "Beberiger (Bitburger) Gäßestrepper" saved the city of Bitburg during the siege by the Swedes.

At the end of May 1992, the fountain at the Pferdemarkt (horse market) was inaugurated on the occasion of the Old Town Festival in the brewery town of Bitburg. The bronze sculpture by Bitburg sculptor Roger Delleré is a figurative interpretation of the horse trade. It recalls the times when regularly held horse and cattle markets were still part of everyday life in the town and made a significant contribution to its economic prosperity. The work of art depicts two Bitburg natives, Klaus Schilling and Fritz Jäschke, as buyer and dealer in a horse trade, shaking hands.

Plenty of benches invite you to relax. There's also a small children's playground. The kiosk was closed during our visit.
